- Experience: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude acquired through previous job experience or vocational schooling. Includes a working knowledge of 4 or more of the following skills: use of hand and power tools, minor plumbing/pipefitting, minor welding, minor electrical work, minor carpentry work, blueprint reading, mathematics, grounds-keeping, industrial equipment operation
- A refrigerant recovery certification is desired, but not required
- If designated to a route a valid state motor vehicle driver's license is required. Must demonstrate that they operate a company vehicle in a safe manner

- High school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s degree, vocational training, or equivalent in Stationary Engineering, HVAC, or mechanical systems is preferred (equivalent military experience/training is acceptable)
- Four to six years of experience in general labor, facilities maintenance, or equivalent military experience is required. Three to five years of experience with commercial facility maintenance with mechanical/electrical equipment service is preferred
- Strong project coordination/management skills
- Strong ability to operate portable power tools (e.g., drills, saws, etc.), table saws, grinders, and non-powered hand tools
- Ability to read and understand manufacturers’ warnings, labels, instructions, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and have good knowledge of applicable building codes
- Strong ability to read and properly interpret blueprints and project plans
- Must be able to effectively document changes made to systems, equipment, or the structure
- Ability to multitask and use time efficiently to meet project deadlines
- Strong ability to identify procedural improvements, make suggestions, and assist in implementing changes
- Must have a good knowledge of troubleshooting and repair
- Good computer skills, including but not limited to internet application and operating computers associated with assigned equipment or systems
