  • Lead negotiations with equipment and equipment service related suppliers to ensure Masonite gets the best overall value
  • Partner with global engineering to establish a global sourcing strategy for major capital equipment; engage business leaders and suppliers to understand their needs
  • Develop innovative sourcing arrangements to reduce capital equipment costs and risks
  • Closely work with legal on finalizing contracts
  • Continuously develop and implement best practices in the capital equipment sourcing area; establish and implement supply chain policies consistent with corporate guidelines, ensuring that operations and procurement personnel fairly and consistently administer all policies and procedures
  • Expertise across the full lifecycle of strategic sourcing and corporate procurement activities including sourcing strategies, RFP development & analysis, supplier selection, contract negotiations, contract preparation, and review and analysis
  • Responsible for the identification and implementation of innovation and value creation opportunities within the capital equipment sourcing category to improve performance
  • Evaluate like suppliers and help equipment standardization efforts across multiple plants
  • Monitor compliance and ensure operational usage against centrally procured contracts; seek to understand compliance issues and drive corrective actions as needed
  • Work with operations leadership on special projects to support operations strategy
  • Establish process with AP & engineering to ensure asset tracking of all capital equipment is documented
  • Develop, maintain and report on category metrics before and after negotiations
  • Create an environment that fosters team work, collaboration, flexibility and change acceptance that supports quality, standardization and cost savings
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Capital equipment negotiations
  • Must demonstrate significant experience in project management and show successes in deployment of systems/processes
  • Demonstrated competence in cost reduction and process improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to provide innovative leadership in the issues related to the key procurement and operating disciplines
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate at all organizational levels and outside suppliers
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem solving capabilities
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience, knowledge or trained in Design for Six Sigma Methodologies highly desired
