Oversee the performance of functional group to assure that products and processes meet regulatory requirements. Review and approve validation protocols and reports to support change controls. Monitor validated states for sterilization processes including, but not limited to ETO, Gamma, E-Beam, Gas Plasma, or Steam
Implement sterilization validation programs to establish and maintain a satisfactory level of compliance with regulatory requirements. Interface, on an as needed basis, with regulatory agencies in conjunction with routine audits, field complaint investigations and technical interchanges
Implement clean room and processed water programs to establish and maintain a satisfactory level of compliance with regulatory requirements
Manage Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives
Provide technical support to R&D for new product development
Provide leadership in the design, specification and selection of sterilization equipment. Evaluate alternatives, propose and recommend solutions to problems. Assess and update sterilization strategies for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
Establish standards for Environmental Monitoring and Trending for clean rooms and water system
Ensure a highly trained and effectively performing work group. Prepare and maintain annual budgets.All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations
Travel requirement: Less than 10%
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or related discipline
7+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sterilization technologies with a Bachelor’s
5+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sterilization technologies with a Masters
5+ years of leadership/managerial experience
No specialized knowledge required
15 + years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sterilization technologies with a Bachelor’s
12+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sterilization technologies with a Masters
Proficiency in critical systems such as clean room and processed water design and requirements
Effective budgeting skills
Problems solving and decision making skills
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and across the organization
Performance Management Leadership and staff development skills
Demonstrate appropriate leadership skills and styles in varying circumstances
Effectively bring together various individuals and departments for common effort
Well-developed computer skills with expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & statistical tools
