  • Participate in team strategy meetings and follow organization-wide practices for tracking relationships, measuring performance and stewarding donors
  • A proven track record of successfully closing five and six-figure gifts from high net-worth individuals. Comfort working with foundations and family foundations
  • Minimum of five years fundraising experience; knowledge of the Bay Area’s philanthropic community preferred
  • Understanding of how to create and patience around building portfolios and pipelines from scratch
  • Demonstrated understanding of development philosophies, concepts and techniques, including prospect research, cultivation and closing gifts
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents including staff, board members, and external partners
  • Knowledge of or interest in health equity, food systems, national service, education and related issues
  • Strength in multi-tasking, goal-setting, prioritization and project management
  • High degree of comfort in a computer-based environment and proficiency in current CRM software (e.g.Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge)
  • Comfort in a deadline-driven, high-accountability role and be self-motivated to succeed
  • Intellectual curiosity, understanding and enthusiasm for the work of FoodCorps
