Teacher assistant
provides supervision to TTAC early childhood staff and participate in the TTAC leadership team, ensuring that TTAC early childhood specialists focus Region 4 work efforts on the objectives set by the VDOE (Virginia Department of Education) and are consistent with the VDOE early childhood special education work plan.

Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance
Prepares financial statements and food program reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing account information and trends
Complies with federal,state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements
Receive, approve, and/or decline client invoices with approval from Center Director
Provide inventory support, including maintaining office materials and supplies
Receive requests for materials and equipment related to Third Party and Food Program
Prepare purchase orders accordingly, with approval from Center Director

Responsibilities for teacher assistant
- Possess knowledge of family-centered and trans-disciplinary practices and will demonstrate aptitudes for participation in team development, implementation and evaluation of professional development activities
- Must have 45 hour child course started or completed
- Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development or a CDA preferred
- Certificate of Completion for the 45-Hour Entry Level Course, or higher, or candidate must provide a written agreement to complete this training within six (6) months of date of hire
- Candidate must also agree to complete a minimum of 3 credit hours per semester (Summer, Fall and Spring) toward an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Ability to implement activities in an anti-bias environment

- Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying
- Experience working in early intervention
- Working within an interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary model of service delivery
- Experience using coaching-based interventions
- Experience with the Creative Curriculum, TS GOLD, and/or CLASS
