- The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing individualized, age specific, culturally competent care to patients undergoing or recovering from anesthesia
- Assists the physician with procedures on the Endo Unit
- Responsible for patient/family education throughout the Endo Unit stay
- Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for Endo Nursing and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
- Assist the gastroenterologist as needed during the procedure when assigned
- Transport the Veteran safely to the recovery area upon determining the patient meets criteria for discharge from area, documenting responses to interventions, findings and reporting changes in patient status
