- Completes counts accurately, instruments, sponges, sharps for all Cesarean sections 100% of the time

- Compiles daily/monthly statistical reports as indicated

OB Technician Job Description
- Scrub for cases according to established standards of sterile procedure, dons sterile gown and gloves, assists surgeon with same
- Pass instruments, sponges, sutures and other sterile supplies and equipment to surgeons and assist during procedure by holding retraction devices and act to anticipate and respond to surgeon’s needs during course of surgery as determined by accepted standards of practice
- Receive surgical specimens, properly identify and preserve specimens during procedure and notify circulating nurse of source of material
- Clean Operating Room by removing drapes, replacing hamper and trash bags, disposing of used supplies and cleaning and returning instruments, supplies and equipment to appropriate storage areas
- Assist in maintaining updated surgeon preference sheets per case as needed in collaboration with the circulating nurse
- Implement sterile techniques in preparing delivery tables
- Maintain unit inventory supplies by ordering, receiving and restocking as needed
