Registered Nurse Emergency Department Cover Letter

In my previous role, I was responsible for relationship-based care that promotes continuous, consistent, efficient and accountable delivery of nursing care using the nursing process with a favorable focus on patient experience.

I reviewed the requirements of the job opening and I believe my candidacy is an excellent fit for this position. Some of the key requirements that I have extensive experience with include:

• Demonstrates leadership activities
• Previous Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
• FBI fingerprints obtained before start
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance obtained before start
• CBRNE training preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications thru AHA
• Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse
• Within three months of assignment, employee will attend a hospital-sponsored Crisis Training Program and will attend at least annually for the duration of employment

• Previous emergency care experience either as a technician or intern preferred
• National Stroke Assoc NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire
• ENCP preferred, CEN preferred
• Active RN license - NH State or any other compact state
• Recognizing overt abnormal signs and symptoms and/or changes in the patients' condition and responding appropriately
• Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, ENA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards
• Demonstrates competency to manage all areas of emergency nursing involving different body systems within age specific criteria
