Recognizes and defines testing problems or instrument malfunction (e.g., in hematology a clot in anti-coagulated samples can cause fibrin to be deposited in instrument lines causing errors in values) evaluates methods for resolution (use of backup instrumentation for completion of testing; locates and performs maintenance/repairs on out of service instrument to bring it back on line)
Selects, performs, evaluates and monitors the performance of non-routine and specialized test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established standards
