Conduct lab activities in accordance with AOSA, ISTA, Customer specifications, plans and work instructions, and any other regulatory protocol governing lab testing. Ensure results are accurately entered daily and review possible nonconforming data for prescribed retesting. Conduct lab activities within Pioneer’s and Seed Quality Testing Lab’s Mission, Vision and Values. Maintain necessary documentation and quality records to provide evidence that Pioneer Objectives, Plans, Procedures and Work Instructions are being followed. Assist in Internal and External Audits. Attend Research, Integrated Operations and other planning conferences. Continue to develop additional skills which promote lab operations as it relates to mission and vision statements
Promote teamwork and work with Quality Testing Lab Management, supervisors and co-worker to complete task and to promote an environment conducive to all lab activities. Assist employees in activities relating to Sizing, treating, plantability, receiving, germination testing and sample preparation, and data input
Provide accurate and timely data to Integrated Operations and Research management and personnel. Provide and assist in analysis and evaluation of data for determination of quality of seed based on quality testing results with Research and Supply Characterization personnel
Communicate concerns relating to quality, testing, employee and equipment to the Coordinator and/or Team Lead and/or Seed Quality Testing Lab Manager. Maintain proper check samples or standards utilized in testing. Maintain schedule and record of equipment repair and calibration. Monitor critical equipment to ensure proper operation
Provide technical support and training to Pioneer personnel, i.e., Production location personnel, as appropriate
Cooperate with other Pioneer labs in monitoring statistical data relating to check samples and participating in Referee tests. Provide facilities and personnel for research and experimental evaluation. Conduct quality testing utilized for product evaluation. Provide resources, initiate and assist with tests for standardization and development. May assist in Germination, Special Testing, Sizing labs, Plantability and Field testing as assigned
Conduct all business activities with integrity and maintain high standard of professionalism
Understand and promote Integrated Operations and Quality Testing Business Plans. Provide input into developing Business Plans, goals and Quality Management System documentation
Technical degree or HS Diploma/GED + 2 years of experience
Must be able to handle up to 65 pound seed samples
