- Must have a minimum of 1 year echocardiography experience including clinicals
- Must be registered in cardiac ultrasound by either ARDMS or CCI

- Requests help from staff when ambulating a difficult patient to minimize safety risks as demonstrated by co-workers involvement
- Observes patient during exam and reports any unusual occurrences to nursing and/or physicians
- Scheduled appointments at the soonest available and convenient time for the patient
- Coordinates exams with other departments to facilitate efficient intradepartmental scheduling and to minimize patient waiting as observed by supervisor

- Demonstrates skill and knowledge in the use of transducers and imaging equipment
- Documentation and provision of patient information to medical, nursing and diagnostic staff
- Prepares patients for exams, explaining procedure, positioning patient, and observing patient and reporting any unusual occurrences
- Performance of 3D acquisition and cropping
- Current BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

- Sends report to patient’s physician
- Participates in rotating call schedule
- Performs echocardiographic and cardiac Doppler studies and prepares quantitative calculations
- Assists cardiologist during transesophageal echocardiographic studies
- Delivers preliminary echo impressions to physicians, as requested
- Maintains records and logs of studies performed
- Consults with cardiologist for interpretation of test results
