Responsibilities for Seaman Cover Letter

Seaman responsible for excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.

Working knowledge of barge handling and making up tows
Attaches and removes line from the vessel, barges, ships, docks
Unties and reties lines during loading and discharging in order to adjust for the changing height of the barge, relative to the height of the dock and the vessel
Uses tools such as hammers, fire axes, ratchets, hand winches, hose boom, needle guns and grinders with two hands
Works and lives aboard vessel in close quarter for prolonged periods according to the work schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off and be requested to work additional days
Trains under a licensed Tankerman in preparation for obtaining a Tankerman’s license
Experience in Commercial Boating preferred
US Coast Guard Merchand Mariner Certificate (MMC) preferred
