- PnL commentary review and attestation for reported P&L and attribution, as it relates to the desk's exposures, new deals, and market movements
- Hub Officer supervisory responsibility for the team in the Baltimore Center Of Excellence
- Ensuring accuracy of the books & records via the monthly close process, and providing sign-off and guidance for the quarterly financial statement and regulatory filing preparation (Y9C, HCD, Volcker, etc.)
- Analyzing and interpreting strategy complexity for new accounting and regulatory rules (e.g. MIFID; Revenue Recognition rules) and understanding/communicating how new business proposals impact the financials of the firm, in the context of the PRG/NPA processes or independently
- Serve as the senior point person for validation, review, and analysis of financial data for the Cash Equities trading desks, including point-of-time and historical trending of Revenues, Balance Sheet, Capital, Funding and Liquidity on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Primary coverage responsibility for the MCR, Forensics, and Due Diligence management reporting for the Global Cash Equities business
- Partnership with the Business Unit in an advisory capacity to help drive results and improve the bottom line
- Partnership and collaboration with other support areas for the Cash Equities business, including Operations, Technology, Legal, and other groups within Finance, as well as the Product Control teams for other regions or business coverage
- Identification of key risks, control gaps, and inefficiencies, and continuous work towards mitigating those by introducing improvements in the control environment, as well as proposing process or technological enhancements
- Analysis and review with the business of PBT reports and profitability metrics
- Analysis of the Cash Equities business impact to standalone Legal Entity financials (primarily MS&Co in the U.S.)
- Provide senior Finance coverage and support for the Business Model Investments desk
- Review and analysis of JV and revenue sharing arrangements and agreements for the Americas Cash Equities business
- 10+ years accounting or financial services experience
- Exposure to financial instruments, equities and derivatives preferred
- Self-starter, independent, strong team player
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and proactively manage his/her and team's responsibilities
- CPA or equivalent certification is desired but not required
