• Able to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with patients, and families while on duty
• Engage use of Translator Service as needed to communicate with patients
• Student pursuing career in a patient care setting
• Receive CIDE education within 3 months of hire/transfer and maintain annual competency
• Preferred hospital/EMS experience
• Preferred behavioral health experience

• Completion of AVADE 1 and 2 or like instruction and or completion within 30 days of hire
• Training in nurses aid course or health care assistant

Previously, I was responsible for observation and direct patient care as directed by the RN including, but not limited to activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, and ambulating, as well as turning and repositioning patients.

• PPD (TB Test) within 3 months
• Basic knowledge of hospital codes, policies, and procedures related to research studies, sitters, safety, visitors and HIPPA
• BLS card with American Heart Association
• Previous experience working with behavioral health patients is preferred
• Aggression management, physical comfort and monitoring safety
• Observes hospital policies and rules governing conduct at work
• Interacts as appropriate to the patient's condition and choice, under the direction of RN/LPN
• Observe the individual's responses to treatment and report them orally to appropriate hospital staff

• Maintain visual observation at all times
• Verbally redirect patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room
• Immediately summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance
