In my previous role, I was responsible for clinical pharmacotherapy including, but not limited to: patient medication counseling, multidisciplinary patient care rounds, medication administration record review, adverse drug reactions monitoring and reporting, medication error reporting and pharmacokinetic dosing service.

• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy technical school
• Six month of oncology pharmacy experience preferred
• Medical terminology and knowledge of top 200 medications prescribed preferred
• Proficient knowledge of computers, automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell), calculators, electronic medical record (EPIC), various computerized and mechanical devices necessary for product preparation and dispensing (e.g., scales, strip packager, magnetic stirrer, ) preferred
• Experience with non-sterile compounding preferred
• Experience with phones, pagers, fax machines, hand held scanners, preferred
• Maintains all requirements for continuous certification
• A willingness to perform work which has infrequent disagreeable features and safety hazards

In my previous role, I was responsible for specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes including advising physicians and practitioners on issues concerning drug therapy in both the hospital and clinic settings, the inherent toxicity of drugs, drug-drug, drug-food interactions and side effects, as well as assisting in the prescribing of appropriate doses.

• Participation in continuing education activities to meet licensure and certification requirements
• Sterile compounding experience preferred
• Knowledge of medication classes, pharmaceutical terminology, abbreviations, symbols
• Personal computer or mainframe order entry experience preferred
• Fill orders for unit doses, pre-package pharmaceuticals, intravenous admixtures, DEA Controlled substances, floor stock, supplemental medications, emergency kits and general stock requisitions
• Perform various related pharmacy duties including such quality management activities as drug product recalls, pharmacy area inspections and pharmaceutical care audits
• Minimum 6 months experience as a Pharm Tech AND 6 months experience with IVs and Chemo
• Six months experience in prior pharmacy technician health system roles such as inpatient pharmacy, IV/Infusion pharmacy, retail pharmacy, mail order pharmacy, and/or pharmacy repackaging

• Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy
• Successful completion of MMC sterile products certification program with passing scores in each of three examinations covering aseptic technique, safe handling of cytotoxic drugs, & preparation of sterile products
• Certification as a pharmacy technician by CPhA or CSHP
• Prefers experience in prior pharmacy technician health system roles such as inpatient pharmacy, IV/Infusion pharmacy, retail pharmacy, mail order pharmacy, and/or pharmacy repackaging
