Previously, I was responsible for assistance in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of needed cable infrastructure, such as fiber optic cables, copper Ethernet cables, and the required cable infrastructure pathways, and ensure that the work is done in accordance with best practices and standards.

• CAT 5e / CAT 6 (shielded and unshielded) some Fiber
• Experience with a soldering iron, hammer drill experience with basic hand tools for cable installation
• Experience punching down on both the 110 and 66 block experience with terminating
• Technicians should have basic hand tools and a punch down set
• Install entrance facility grounding infrastructure and perform grounding tests
• Competent with hand tools (drill for mounting equipment enclosures, TVs and Monitors)
• Capable of lifting heavy equipment (ladders, cable spool )
• Personal Transportation is necessary for Travel to and from the job site - many sites are not public transportation accessible

In my previous role, I was responsible for and/or supervise the installation, operation, testing and maintenance services as it relates to voice and data network installation, troubleshooting and operation of inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) communications infrastructure using copper and fiber optic cabling.

• BICSI certification would be nice
• Experience with security systems, fire alarm systems, voice and data network is ideal

• Product specific certification and/or professional associations equivalent (BICSI,SCTE,etc)

• Knowledge of video surveillance equipment, installation, and maintenance
• Experienced in campus security (intrusion, glass breakage, etc)
• Experienced with cabling infrastructure installation on data, intrusion, PA, low voltage cables

• A valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
