In the previous role, I was responsible for technical assistance and training, as requested, on issues related to archaeology and cultural resource management to DCR staff, other state, federal & municipal government organizations, non-profits, and community groups.

I reviewed the requirements of the job opening and I believe my candidacy is an excellent fit for this position. Some of the key requirements that I have extensive experience with include:

• Advanced familiarity with archeological materials and sections relating to applicable cultural resources
• Working knowledge of archeological principles and methodologies
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal historic preservation legislation
• Demonstrated knowledge of archaeological field and laboratory methodologies and analytical techniques is beneficial
• While not mandatory, New Mexico experience and past New Mexico BLM district permits, and/or Texas Antiquities permit completion is preferred

In my previous role, I was responsible for guidance and recommendations to CEMML Supervisor, federal Cultural Resources Manager, and Chief of the Environmental and Natural Resources Division regarding cultural resources program management.

Please consider my experience and qualifications for this position:

• Meets Secretary of Interior Standards for Archaeology
• Experience designing, conducting, and reporting on Phase 1 pedestrian surveys, Phase II, and Phase III excavations
• Understanding of all cultural resource laws and regulations governing cultural resources in California
• Expertise in Cultural Resources Management (historic/prehistoric archaeology, historic structures and engineering, historic landscapes and Traditional Cultural Properties) is the primary need with paleontology expertise a secondary need
• Thorough understanding of the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106) and its implementing regulations (36 CFR 800)
• Experience and understanding of the cultural resource issues in the Midwest, Plains, Great Basin, or Western US
• Speaking in public forums
• Professional CRM experience on Phase I projects is preferred but not mandatory
